Definitely, this is an excellent use of the platform.
Because the platform is web-based, you can take the consultation everywhere that you have a computer with internet access, a webcam, and a microphone. You can even do it on your phone.
Updates for Hospitalised Patients or Surgical Patients
Instead of phone call with an update at the beginning and end of every day, why not make one of the updates a video consultation? You can still make it free of charge- perhaps call it 'Patient Update'- and use it to call a client with an update, show them blood results or x-rays, or even let them see their pet. Clients love to see 'behind the scenes' so this is a really valuable way to increase your offerings to your clients.
Where you have patients in for an extended period of time, you could consider booking clients in with a nurse for a little update. After all, clients usually love to visit their pets in hospital, but under current circumstances this is not possible.
Visiting Hours could be done using public appointments- make some appointments with J Bloggs RVN each afternoon that are the appointment type 'Visiting for Hospitalised Patients'- or by private appointment invite to each client with a hospitalised pet using a private appointment type, perhaps 'Hospital Update'.
Your nurse can then log in, and take the consultations one by one from the kennel room, updating the clients on the pet's condition and allowing them to see their pet- which is a big comfort to a lot of owners.
