Stripe is a payment platform that is integrated into the Vet Help Direct video platform. It's how we take payment from Pet Owners for consultations.
Stripe Connect is an addition to the Stripe platform that allows Stripe accounts to be connected with one another.
When a practice is not connected to Vet Help Direct using Stripe Connect, the customer payment comes into Vet Help Direct's account and we reimburse practices on a monthly basis.
When a practice's Stripe account is connected to Vet Help Direct's Stripe account, our platform will immediately transfer to the practice the fees for video consultations (less our commission and Stripe transaction fees). This is highly beneficial to the practice's cashflow.
Additionally, Stripe Connect is used in the processing of refunds - if you need to refund a payment, you can do so through the video platform; when the refund is processed, the main body of the fee is refunded from the practice's Stripe account, and the commission element of the original payment will be automatically refunded from Vet Help Direct's account.
Practice Admins can enable Stripe Connect at any time using the "Manage Billing" interface within the application. This will set up a Stripe Account and connect it to Vet Help Direct's account automatically.
Note that transactions completed prior to the practice enabling Stripe Connect are processed under the monthly reimbursement system.
